Local Game Changer: Steve Johnson joins Whitlockmpany

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Whitlockmpany is shaking things up in Kansas City, welcoming bank tax specialist Steve Johnson into the fold.

Johnson will serve as Partner in Whitlock’s dynamic Community Banking Group, which provides a full range of audit, tax, technology, risk management and consulting services to the community banking industry.

Whitlock is redefining what traditional accounting means, providing comprehensive accounting and consulting services to the Midwest region through its offices in Springfield, Joplin and Kansas City. The Community Bank Group is one of the firm’s largest niche services and offers audits, loan reviews, interest rate risk reviews, succession planning and tax services.

Johnson joins the company from RSM, which provides audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market. He brings with him more than 25 years of experience as a business advisor and confidant to financial institutions, middle market companies and their stakeholders related to financial advisory matters, tax compliance and planning, and related merger and acquisition activity.

A certified public accountant licensed in Minnesota and Missouri, Johnson is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants, and a board member of the Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium.
