The Whitlock Company Expands Kansas City Market and Hires Five New Employees
The Whitlock Company is redefining what traditional accounting means; expands Kansas City market and hires five new employees. Coming off the acquisition of RPA CPAs and RPA Consulting in June of 2017, The Whitlock Company is expanding their presence in the Kansas City market, with a move from their Overland Park office to a larger office space off Ward Parkway in late 2017.
Led by two KC powerhouse accountants, Chuck McCann, co-founder of Mayer Hoffman McCann, and Matt Radetic, former President of RPA, Whitlock’s Kansas City office has grown from just two employees in 2017 to 25. McCann and Radetic aren’t new to experiencing explosive growth; McCann’s wide-ranging network and well-known reputation will help Whitlock grow their new line of business: outsourced accounting/outsourced CFO services. In addition to traditional accounting services for privately owned companies, high net worth individuals, community banks, higher education and commercial real estate, Whitlock’s outsourced accounting and outsourced CFO services can help companies gain a strategic advantage without breaking the bank. It’s the perfect solution for small-to-mid sized businesses who are looking for a comprehensive strategy, a robust team of accountants, and a CFO who has actually held the title, but don’t have the budget to cover a six-member team’s salary.
While McCann’s focus will be on growing outsourced accounting and building brand recognition in Kansas City, Radetic will continue to develop Whitlock’s team of experienced professionals who provide a full range of audit, tax, technology, risk management and consulting services to the banking industry; he will also lead the merger and acquisition consulting services division, leveraging RPA’s long-established community banking relationships. Senior partner David Myers is making the move from Springfield to Kansas City, joining McCann and Radetic and reaffirming Whitlock’s commitment to compete in the Kansas City market and the company’s determination to redefine what traditional accounting means.
“What we’ve set out to do in all three of our locations (Springfield, Joplin and Kansas City) is to bridge the gap between traditional and forward-thinking—what we call strategic accounting,” Myers said. “We look beyond the numbers to see the bigger picture, and that perspective is how we help businesses grow.” Whitlock’s five new hires include an additional tax manager, tax attorney and three staff accountants in order to support their growing client base as well as the increased business related to the new tax regulations. 1. Ray Moncrieffe, Tax Manager – Kansas City 2. Joe Holman, Tax Attorney – Kansas City 3. Cece Dickey, Staff Accountant – Springfield 4. Taylor Segars, Staff Accountant – Springfield 5. Ryan Somogye, Staff Accountant – Springfield
